FIREFIGHTERS were called out last night after a mattress was set on fire under the “blue bridge” on Chester Road, Warrington.
One fire crew from Warrington attended at the scene shortly before 10pm after smoke was seen from near the blue bridge.
On arrival the crew discovered a mattress well alight underneath the bridge.
One hose reel jet was used to extinguish the flames.
It is believed that this fire had been started deliberately.
