Police to step up patrols after youths seen playing football at baby cemetery

POLICE are stepping up patrols near Fox Covert cemetery, Appleton, after youths were seen playing football in the Baby Garden.

Local officers received reports of up to six youths playing football in the Baby Garden of Fox Covert cemetery yesterday evening.
Appleton Police posted on social media “This type of behaviour is really disrespectful and totally unacceptable. We will be increasing our presence around there as a result of this report.”
It is one of a number of issues involving anti-social behaviour in and around Fox Covert Cemetery, including drug taking.
It has also proved to be a popular hang out for youths during lockdown.
Officers returned to the scene this evening as part of ongoing patrols.
There was no damage to report from last night and no youths in the area this evening.
