Village recycling skip is a “disgrace”

AN over flowing recycling skip in Lymm village which hasn’t been emptied since January, has been labelled a “disgrace” by a nearby resident, who says her complaints have been ignored.

Local resident Mrs Margaret Hilton said: “I would be grateful if somebody could take a look at the so called recycling skip in Davis Way car park.
“It has been overflowing since January, with all types of rubbish. Its proximity to the youth club, library and Bridgewater Canal is a health hazard. The Bridgewater Canal has a large population of rats, which are likely to be attracted to the contents.
“Despite many appeals to Warrington Borough Council by myself, and Councillor Ian Marks, no action has taken place. This is a blatant eyesore in the middle of Lymm.”

Parish Cllr Kath Buckley, who is also a borough Cllr at Warrington added: “This is an ongoing issue which we as a Parish Council have complained about to Warrington Borough Council.
“Most recently both the Parish clerk and myself have notified WBC about the state of the bins.
“A local constituent has complained more than once about the state that they are in, especially after a bank holiday.”
