Climbing plant believed to have been set on fire on side of house

FIREFIGHTERS were called out shortly after midnight to tackle a garden fire at Great Sankey which they believe was started deliberately.

Two fire crews, one from Warrington and one from Penketh, attended the garden fire at an address in Reaper Close, Warrington, which had affected the building.The fire, which is thought to have been deliberate had spread up a climbing plant attached to the house.

Crews used a hose reel and ten metre ladder to put out the fire. They then used a thermal imaging camera to check for fire spread. Fire crews were in attendance for approximately three and a half hours
