Firefighters called out to tackle grass fire and bonfire

FIREFIGHTERS were called out twice this morning to tackle a grass fire and a bonfire on a footpath.

The grass fire was on Forrest Way, Warrington at around 9.45 this morning.
On arrival the crew discovered a section of grass well alight.
A water back pack and bucket were used to extinguish the flames. It is believed that the fire had started accidentally.

Earlier at around 8.30am Firefighters were called following reports of a fire in the open near Red Lane.
On arrival the crew discovered a small bonfire on a footpath.
A water back pack and buckets were used to extinguish the fire.
