Challenging but rewarding times for Rosebank Nurseries

0

It has been a challenging, but rewarding, two months at Rosebank Nurseries since they were asked to keep on caring for children of key workers in March.

They have combined children of key workers from their additional two nurseries at Rosebank Naturegarten and The Lakes Centre into their Pepper St, Lymm setting at The Rosebank Centre.
The large premises with extensive gardens provided an excellent, safe environment for children to learn and play. A core team of staff including each of otheir nursery managers have adopted new procedures to care for both daytime children and after school provision for older children. Their staff have been excellent in adopting to the new regime and the support from parents has been much appreciated. This experience is helping to develop further procedures that will be used as they start a phased return to what will be a new normal.
Just like the last 9 weeks, they are determined to maintain a high level of activity and learning for children, yet at the same time giving parents re-assurance that they are in a safe and caring environment. This not only involves such measures as sanitising surfaces and frequent hand washing, but also more subtle arrangements such as the consistent grouping of children with a lead carer/teacher. Children need the company of other children and caring adults to interact with as part of their development and they will be overlaying this with appropriate procedures to keep them safe and protected.
The phased return will involve some children coming to nurseries from 1st June, with others on the 8th June and beyond. This allows all the children and staff to settle into new ways of working under the guidance of their managers who are now very experienced in working in a new Coronavirus world.
They are also taking registrations for new children starting in September including 2 and 3 year-old funded places.
They feel passionate about the development and care of their children and are determined that their nurseries at The Rosebank Centre, Rosebank Naturegarten and The Lakes Centre will continue to provide the best of care for their children. Parents will see some changes, but underneath their ambitions and goals will remain.
