Deliberate fire started in park during early hours

WITNESSES are being sought after a fire was deliberately started in a park at Westy, Warrington, during the early hours of this morning.

The incident took place at 01:41 on Mort Avenue, Westy, Warrington. One fire engine attended from Warrington.
Firefighters from Warrington used a water backpack to extinguish a small fire in a park on Mort Avenue.
The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate and anyone with any information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 713121 or visit https://www.cheshire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/

Earlier in the evning, at around 8.10pm firefighters from Lymm were called to reports of a fire in the open on Church Lane, Grappenhall.
On arrival at the scene the crew found a skip which was well alight.
Firefighters used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, and were in attendance at the incident for approximately 50 minutes.
