LIVEWIRE’S Lifestyles Team is continuing to offer support for Warrington’s vulnerable residents during the coronavirus pandemic.

Since LiveWire’s facilities were closed to the public in March, the Lifestyles Team quickly adapted to change their ways of working in order to continue to be a valuable resource to the local community. The team have been hard at work supporting those residents in Warrington who fall into the Governments COVID-19 vulnerable categories.
LiveWire’s Lifestyles Team are telephoning and checking in with over 500 residents a week. It is hoped that through the efforts of the team, that this can help the town to contribute to the known challenges around social isolation, mental wellbeing and to support those residents most at risk. LiveWire hopes their contribution will help the NHS and social care to recover as quickly as possible.
As a Community Interest Company, LiveWire is committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of the residents in the Borough. LiveWire continue to accept referrals from individuals and professionals during this time for support with stop smoking, weight management, and exercise on prescription. For more information the Lifestyles Team can be contacted on 07824087339, or email at [email protected] Residents can also visit www.livewirewarrington.co.uk to gain access to a wide range of resources and advice to help residents to maintain good physical, emotional and mental health particularly in light of the current situation and the challenges people will be facing.
In addition to this, the team have also adapted their approach and are producing content via LiveWire’s social media channels for local residents to access free of charge. Content includes weekly exercise sessions such as chair-based exercise, low-impact exercise and Tai Chi to help keep people moving, weekly healthy meal recipes, and also a weekly feature that sees one of the advisors, Paul producing weekly ‘Kitchen Talks’ covering all things health and wellbeing. This week’s Kitchen Talks episode features ex-professional rugby league star Danny Sculthorpe talking about how to maintain good mental health during this period of lockdown, which has been coordinated to be released during Mental Health Awareness Week.
