OLD Oak trees in a semi- ancient woodland at Appleton are in danger of being destroyed by trail bikers.

Ongoing excavations are being dug by trail bike riders which are destroying the roots of oak trees in the semi ancient woodland at Lumb Brook Valley.
Local resident Nick White has written to the Woodland Trust, who manage the area, calling for “Immediate action to prevent trees being killed and possible collapse”.
The excavations which have become worse recently due to the numbers of trail bikers exercising in the woods, have exposed the roots of the Oak trees.
The issue has also been raised with Appleton Parish Council.
