Police launch CCTV appeal after assault victim was spat at and punched in face

POLICE have issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an assault at Latchford, Warrington, when the victim was spat at and punched in the face.

The assault took place at around 10.50am on Thursday 9 April on Grammar School Road in Latchford.
A 54-year-old man was spat at and punched to the face by an unknown man.
He received treatment for minor injuries at Warrington Hospital.
Enquiries have been ongoing and officers are keen to speak to the man in the CCTV image who may be able to assist with their investigation.
PC Alex Carr, of Warrington Local Policing Unit, said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a man who was simply carrying out his job during these challenging times.
“I am keen to speak to the man in the image and I am encouraging him to come forward as he may have information to assist with our investigation.
