Fire deliberately started on wasteland

FIREFIGHTERS were called out last night to tackle a fire which is believed to have been deliberately started on wasteland.

One crew from Warrington Fire Station was called out at 9.45pm firefighters to reports of a fire in the open on wasteland behind Hume Street.
Firefighters used water to extinguish the fire and were in attendance for around 20 minutes.
The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

Earlier in the evening at around 7.45pm firefighters received a report of a fire involving bushes in the Old Alder Lane area of Burtonwood in Warrington.
On arrival the crew discovered that it was a small fire.
Water was used to extinguish it and firefighters were in attendance for around 10 minutes.
