Wanted man arrested after hour long stand-off with armed police

A wanted man was arrested after an hour long stand-off with armed police at Orford, Warrington, yesterday afternoon.

A Cheshire police spokesperson confirmed: “Just after 4pm on Wednesday 13 May, police, including armed officers, attended an address in Melville Close ,Warrington to locate and arrest a wanted man.
“At first the man refused to come out of the property, but after the property was contained by officers the man came out and was taken into custody.”
Eyewitnesses reported hearing shouting between officers and the suspect after police and armed officers descended on the property.
Eventually the suspect surrendered himself to police after about one hour.
