Teenager released without charge after incident involving armed police on Folly Lane

A teenager has been released without charge following an incident on Folly Lane, Warrington, earlier today, involving local officers supported by armed police.

Folly Lane, was closed, when armed officers appeared on the scene on Sunday afternoon.
A police spokesperson said:”Shortly before 3pm on Sunday 3 May officers were called to Folly Lane in Warrington following reports of a man in possession of a weapon.
Local officers, supported by armed officers as a precaution, attended the scene and located the man.
The 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and a public order offence.
He was taken to custody and has subsequently been released without charge.
