Young man charged with attempted murder following Orford shooting

A 22-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting incident at Orford last Friday evening.

Anthony Morris was arrested on Grantham Road in Southport on Sunday 27 April and has subsequently been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Morris, of no fixed address, has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 29 April.
A 53-year-old man was also arrested has been released without charge.

The charges relate to an incident, which took place at 8.50pm on Friday 24 April in Poplars Avenue, Orford, where a 55-year-old man sustained serious injuries.
The man remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
