Firefighters called out to two suspected arson attacks

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to two suspected arson attacks in Warrington last night, one involving a horse box and the other a wheelie bin on a bridge.

The first incident took place shortly before 10.30pm when two fire engines attended, one from Warrington and one from Birchwood following a fire in a field off Alder Lane, between Winwick and Burtonwood.
On arrival the crews discovered an abandoned horse box well alight. One hose reel jet was used to extinguish the flames.
Crews were detained at the scene for around one hour.
It is believed that the fire had been started deliberately, anyone with information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 687058.

Then at 11pm firefighters were called following reports of a fire on a bridge on Capesthorne Road.
On arrival the crew from Stockton Heath discovered a wheelie bin well alight.
Firefighters used a water backpack to extinguish the flames.
The crew cut away the fire damaged timbers on the bridge.
It is believed that this fire had also been started deliberately, anyone with information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 687072.
