Coronavirus death toll at Warrington Hospital sadly climbs to 47

EIGHT more coronavirus related deaths have sadly been reported at Warrington Hospital, taking the death toll to 47, with the number of confirmed cases climbing to 393.
The latest figures, which don’t include deaths at care homes, of which there have been at least five in Warrington, come as the Government warned the death toll across the country will continue to rise during the coming days.
Fatalities will be the last statistic to begin slowing down due tot he time it takes for someone to become ill, be admitted to hospital and then sadly die from the disease.
There have now been a total of 14,576 COVID-19 associated UK deaths in hospital – 847 reported in the last 24 hours.
The Latest daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 5,599, taking the total to 108,692.
The number of confirmed cases in Warrington, has climbed to 393, an increase of 21 in the last 24 hours. But there will be many more cases with people self isolating at home.
During the Government’s daily updates it announced a task force was being set up to develop a COVID-19 vaccine “as soon as possible,” aolthough this will take many months with no guarantees.
At Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals, as of today they have so far tested 1,292 patients and of those they have discharged 106 patients who tested positive.
They are currently caring for 113 in patients.
