Man jailed for assaulting emergency worker

A 51-year-old man who assaulted an emergency worker following a fracas on Manchester Road, Warrington, has been jailed for 20 weeks, the day after coming out of prison.

Police encountered Lee Cayzer (51) on Manchester Road following reports of a male launching items at house windows in the area.
When approached by officers Cayzer invited them to exit their vehicle for a fight. He then threw a wheel nut set at the police car.
An oficer exited the car to deal with him and was struck on the leg with another item which was thrown and then a struggle ensued.
Cayzer was arrested for Assaulting an Emergency Worker. His conduct also amounted to a Breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order which has a condition that he should not act in an anti-social manner.
He was subsequently charged and remanded to go before the court. Today he received a custodial sentence of 20 weeks – coming only a day after he was released from his previous stay at HMP.
