A disposable barbecue is believed to have started a fire which impacted on two domestic properties in Latchford yesterday afternoon.
Two fire engines attended, one from Warrington and one from Stockton Heath were called to reports of a fire involving a shed and a conservatory in Henshall Avenue, Latchford, at 2pm on Bank Holiday Monday.
On arrival crews discovered that the fire involved two domestic addresses. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus each used a hose reel jet to fight the fire.
Other firefighters inspected the domestic properties to make sure that there was no fire inside them.
Once the fire looked to be out firefighters damped down the areas affected by it.
They left the scene once they were satisfied that the addresses were safe. Firefighters were in attendance for nearly an hour-and-a-half.
The fire is believed to have been caused accidentally as a result of a used disposable barbecue having been put in a bin.
