League looking for new sponsor as Yellows fate confirmed

WARRINGTON Town’s 2019/20 campaign is officially null and void after the FA Council ratified the decision to the end the season. It means no play-offs for the Yellows, who were third in the table when the season was suspended, the same position they have finished in the previous two seasons.

An FA statement said: “The request to end the 2019/20 season was taken to The FA Council by the representatives of the relevant committees having been fully supported by The FA Board.

“The FA Council’s vote today was overwhelmingly in favour of ratifying the decision.”
Meanwhile, it has been reported that league sponsors BetVictor are pulling out of their two-year sponsorship deal having exercised an early break clause in their contract.
It means the Northern Premier League, plus its Southern League and Isthmian League equivalents, will be on the hunt for a new sponsor for the 2020/21 season, whenever that begins.
The impact of no league sponsor on Warrington Town would likely be a couple of thousand pounds.
