Garden fire spreads to neighbour’s garage

A FIRE in the back garden of a house at Warrington spread to a neighbour’s garage.
The blaze was at a house in Farringdon Road, Winwick yesterday.
On arrival crews discovered that a fire involving trees had spread to a neighbouring garage.
A house was evacuated as a precaution as two firefighters, one wearing breathing apparatus’tackled the blaze with a hose reel jet.
Firefighters then cut away parts of the trees that were damaged by the fire and looked for hotspots using a thermal imaging camera. The hose reel jets were at hand to damp down any hotspots.
Firefighters left the scene after an hour and 15 minutes once they were satisfied that it was safe.
The fire is believed to have started accidentally.
