Hospital launches “Call to Arms” recruitment drive in response to COVID-19 crisis

A support your local hospital ‘Call to Arms’ recruitment drive has been launched by Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The “Call to Arms” is to nurses, healthcare assistants, porters and domestics to give support where and when it is needed most.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals is calling on its local communities to support its campaign for more Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Porters and Domestics.
A number of opportunities are being offered in both qualified and unqualified roles with training and support provided; flexible hours and fast track recruitment into a warm, supportive family of 4,400 dedicated professionals. As well as boosting its current workforce, the Trust is keen to support those who find themselves disadvantaged, displaced or furloughed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The ‘Call to Arms’ is being extended to:
Nurses:
· That are already employed in the public or private sector and would like additional, temporary or fixed hours

· Or those that have been on the NMC register in the last three years but are no longer working clinically

· Or that have retired and would like to help the COVID-19 effort (the NMC has set up a fast track no fee temporary registration service)

Healthcare Assistants:
· That are already in employment (public or private sector) and would like to help the COVID-19 effort

· Or individuals that have a good secondary education, experience working as part of a team and good organisational and communication skills – full training will be provided

Porters and Domestics

· People who are physically fit and have good secondary education. Full training will be provided.
