Shop workers threatened with claw hammer

STAFF at a Warrington store were threatened with a claw hammer after confronting two thugs who had stolen a quantity of meat.
The incident was at Farm Foods, near the Cockhedge roundabout on Saturday evening.
Police were called to the scene following reports of the theft and subsequent threats.
The offenders were traced nearby and arrested.
One man was charged with theft and bailed to appear in court. The other was charged with theft, affray and possession of an offensive weapon and was remanded in custody.
