TWO fire crews were called out last night to tackle a blaze along a disused railway embankment on Thelwall Lane, Warrington.
Two crews one from Stockton Heath and one from Lymm attended at the scene following reports of a fire near a railway embankment near Thelwall Lane.
On arrival crews found around 100 metres of the embankment well alight.
Firefighters used two hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
Crews continued to dampen down the area and checked for hotspots with a thermal imaging camera.
Garden fires are a real concern for us right now. Any fire can quickly get out of hand and could spread to nearby property. Fires can also cause a nuisance to neighbours who then call 999. Please think very carefully before lighting any fires. pic.twitter.com/mMqgqEEIG0
