Police investigate car fire on wasteland off Midland Way

POLICE are investigating a blaze involving a car firefighters believe had deliberately been set on fire on Midland Way, Warrington earlier today (Thursday).

The incident took place shortly after 2.30pm firefighters dealt with a car that had been on fire in Midland Way, Warrington.

The fire, on wasteland near to Battersby Lane, had already been extinguished by workmen when the crew arrived.

Firefighters used a hose reel jet to damp down the inside of the car and make it safe.

Temperatures were monitored with a thermal imaging camera.

Firefighters were in attendance for more than an hour.

The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
