WARRINGTON Hospital has confirmed two more people have died after testing positive for Coronavirus, taking the total number of deaths in the town to four, with the number of cases now totalling 40 in the latest Public Health England figures
Nationally 4,324 new cases have been confirmed today with 563 deaths, taking the overall figures to 29,474 cases and 2,352 deaths.
This comes as the Government faced further criticism for lack of testing and safety equipment for frontline NHS staff, although they say 2,000 staff have now been tested.
Back in Warrington the Hospital Trust sadly confirmed the death of an 84-year-old woman, who passed away on Saturday after testing positive for coronavirus.
An 80-year-old man who also tested positive, died on Monday. Both had underlying health conditions
A Hospital Trusts spokesperson said: “Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients’ families and loved ones at this difficult time.”
There are currently no statistics for the number of people who have recovered.
