Man charged with attempted murder following assault on Old Liverpool Road

A 35-year-old man rom Stockport has been charged with attempted murder following an assault on Old Liverpool Road, Warrington.

David Laponda, from Cale Green in Stockport, was arrested on Wednesday 25 March at an address on Warren Road.

The charge relates to an assault at 11.25am on Saturday 21 March on Old Liverpool Road.

A 35-year-old man, from Widnes, received serious injuries to his head and required hospital treatment.

Laponda has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Warrington Magistrates Court today (Friday), March 27.
