Man arrested after search involving police helicopter

A 30-year-old man was arrested at Warrington after a chase with officers which involved the use of a police helicopter.
The man, from St Helens, is alleged to have failed to provide a breath test after being found in the garden of a house at Burtonwood.
Police pursued a van with false number plates in the early hours of today (Friday).
The chase started near to the slip road at Junction 7 of the M62 eastbound. The van sped off and was followed by police. The occupants of the vehicle ran off after dumping the van but police carried out a search of the area assisted by a helicojpter. The man was found in a garden.
The suspect was held in police custody pending questioning.
