The 29-year-old man was arrested last night after police were alerted to a possible burglary.

He tried running off, but following a search he arrested him on suspicion of going equipped, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a bladed article and assault of an emergency worker.

In another incident at around 5.30pm today two males and a female were arrested on Knutsford Old Road for Drunk & Disorderly.
