NEARLY 70 new homes will be built at Birchwood on the site of a former school, if planning chiefs give the go-ahead.
The 69 homes – 32 two-storey houses and 37 apartments in two three-storey blocks – are planned for the former site of Foxwood School in Chatfield Drive.
Landscaping and car parking provision are also included in the proposals.
Foxwood School for children with special educational needs was moved to Holes Lane, Woolston, some years ago and the former buildings at Birchwood have subsequently been demolished.
The area has suffered with issues from traveller encampents in recent times.
