Road runners pick up 19 new members

APPLETON-based Warrington Road Runners picked up 19 new runners during its beginners and newbies Couch25k course this year.
As usual, the course came to its conclusion at the Warrington parkrun, in which the 19 new runners took part – helped by 32 members of Warrington Road Runners.
During the nine week course, the new members were paired with experienced club members, mostly people they had ran with and got to know over the duration of the course.
The first runner to complete their parkrun graduation was Andrew Briggs in a time of 27:02, quickly followed by Jonathan Hutchinson three seconds later.
All of the group finished inside 42 minutes.
Warrington Road Runners meet twice a week on Tuesdays at Broomfields Leisure Centre and Thursdays outside the running track at Victoria Park at 7pm. For more information visit warringtonroadrunners.co.uk.
