CULCHETH & Glazebury Parish Council has taken the decision to cancel Culcheth Community Day, which was due to take place on Friday May 8th and also mark VE Day, due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

A spokesperson for the parish council said: “We have made the decision to cancel Community Day now before stallholders make financial commitments. We know that, as intended, the day is for raising funds for charities and voluntary groups, so we will be looking at other ways of helping fundraising in the future.

“VE day is also on the Bank Holiday Friday, May 8th. We had planned a display of memorabilia on Culcheth’s green as part of Community Day and also information in the library. We will still be collecting information on how our villages fared during WWII, as it is an important part of history.”
