Talks on growing being good for your health and the work of David Attenborough

TWO talks have been organised at Bents Garden & Home on growing being good for your health and a fascinating insight into the work of famed natural historian David Attenborough.

With concerns about health and the environment might be at an all-time high, but there is one proven way to lighten the mood and relax the mind, and the solution lies no further than the back garden.

Research from the Horticultural Trade Association suggests that 20 minutes spent outside each day, whether just enjoying green space or tending to plants, can help reduce stress and improve our mood.

With this in mind Bents Garden & Home has invited nutritional therapist and keen gardener, Liz Hutson to the Glazebury based centre on Monday 16th March (6 – 8.30pm) to share her thoughts on ‘Growing for Health’.

Guests at Liz’s talk will learn how to use plants and gardening to help both physical and mental wellbeing including information on what plants have the highest nutritional content, which help to improve indoor air quality and what to do if you don’t have a garden.

And with spring just around the corner, gardening is very much on the agenda with thoughts turning to warmer temperatures and enjoying life alfresco. To provide inspiration and advice, Bents has also invited RHS National Judge and expert gardener, Alan Hulme to talk to guests about his time working for famed natural historian, Sir David Attenborough.

During the talk, which will take place on Thursday 19th March (2-3pm), Alan will not only share his secrets of garden success and best practice but share some insights and anecdotes from his time working with one of Britain’s favourite broadcasters.

Further information and details of how to book a place at each event can be found at bents.co.uk
