Swimming teacher Amy is over the moon

CHILDREN’S swimming teacher, Amy French is over the moon to have passed her Swimming Teachers Association (STA) Level 2 Award in Aquatic teaching for baby and pre-school children.
Amy, who is 29, quit her career as a school teacher after taking her five-week-old, Oliver swimming lessons.
Taking the plunge, she made the big decision to leave her career as a schoolteacher behind and pursue her love of becoming a full-time swimming teacher.
The Level 2 Award is all about the best way to teach children, how to treat them as an individual, how to work with each child’s ability and finding out what works for them, while making the lessons fun and enjoyable.
Amy said: “My little boy Oliver has really been the inspiration for my change of career. He fell asleep through his entire first floaties lesson, so I knew he was going to take after his mummy for his love of swimming, as he appeared to be very relaxed in the water! Becoming a swimming teacher seemed such a natural career change, combining swimming which I love, with being able to still continue to work with children.
Amy now teaches baby and pre-school and Swim Academy lessons at Warrington, Sandbach, Delamere and Cheadle Hulme.
