WARRINGTON Wolves have confirmed that centre Anthony Gelling will not be available for selection pending a club investigation into conduct away from the club.
Gelling, who signed from Widnes and has featured for the team twice, is fully supportive of the investigation.
The club and player will be making no further comment at this time.
Meanwhile Cheshire Police have confirmed they received a report of an assault at an address in Widnes on Saturday and that a 29-year-old man had been detained on suspicion of wounding with intent and later released on conditional bail.
Enquiries into the alleged assault are ongoing.
Gelling, a Cook Islands international, has featured in both of Wolves’ Super League matches so far this season.
He previously played for Wigan for five years, helping them win the 2016 Grand Final against Warrington.
After a short stint in NRL with New Zealand Warriors, he spent last season with Championship side Widnes.
