Master athletes busy collecting medals

 MEMBERS of Warrington Athletic Club were busy collecting medals in the Northern Masters Cross County Championships at Spenborough
In the men’s race Colin Bishop had an excellent run to finish in second place with a time of 33 minutes 26 seconds to win the Over 60 Gold Medal and Steve Watmough was close behind in third place in 33 minutes 55 seconds to win the over 55 Gold Medal.
Steve Burthem finished in 13th place in 36 minutes 24 seconds placing fifth over 55 and David Gill finished in 18th place in 39 minutes 22 seconds to win the over 60 silver medal.
These four won the 55-64 team race on 36 points.
Mervyn Ward completed the medal collection finishing in 17th place to win the over 65 silver medal.
