Police informed after suspected arson attack on car at Padgate

POLICE have been informed after a suspected arson attack on a car parked outside a property at Padgate, Warrington, last night (Saturday).

Firefighters were called to a car which was well alight on the driveway of the house in Lysander Drive, Padgate at 19.19.

One crew from Warrington attended at the scene and used a hose reel and breathing apparatus to put out the fire.

The fire is thought to have been started deliberately and Warrington police have been informed.

No injuries were reported.

Earlier in the day at 15:09 firefighters were called to a smoke-logged room at an address in Grappenhall Road, Warrington. Crews used a large fan to disperse smoke and removed wood from the log burner, they then checked for any signs of hotspots.
