THE IoD Cheshire and Active Cheshire have teamed up with an expert panel to share their knowledge on the topic of wellness in the workplace.

The Healthier workplaces, healthier people, healthier businesses event will take place at Warrington Wolves’ Halliwell Jones Staidum on Tuesday January 21 from 8am to 11.30am.

Stephen Law-Lyons, Managing Director, APC Cardiovascular Ltd said: “We have seen a shift in recent year’s towards the acknowledgement of workplace health beyond just potential ‘hazards’ or ‘health and safety’, whilst addressing these issues is still important, the need for employers to actively create workplaces that promote and support good health and well-being has never been more essential.

“A healthy workforce can have an immense positive impact on the functionality and success of an organisation including increased productivity, positive culture and a significant drop in absenteeism.

“Stats from Workplace Mental Health show ‘a total of 91 million days are lost to mental health problems every year, costing the economy approximately £30 billion per year’.

After a networking breakfast guests hear from a panel of speakers, including:

– Anne Boyd, CEO of Active Cheshire
– David Pollock, Executive Chairman of Chess
– Stephen Law-Lyons MD of APC Cardiovascular
– Philip Dyer, Founder of Healthy Leaders
– Dr Colin Robertson of University of Bolton
– Melvin Bradley, Business Development Manager at Workplace Mental Health Limited

Each will be sharing their own expertise and experiences on the subject, offering practical insights to help improve the health and wellness of the workplace.

The event is free to members of the Instutue of Directors and £10 for non members.
