Axe man arrested at Bewsey after supermarket assault

POLICE arrested a man armed with an axe following a disturbance in the Bewsey Street area of Warrington last night.

Officers made their way to an address in the Bewsey Street area following reports of a disturbance and arrested the male for allegations of Affray and Possession of a Weapon (Axe) in a communal area.

He was also arrested for an earlier Assault allegation at Sainsburys supermarket.

The man is currently being held in custody.
