LYMM Rotary Club’s annual float around Lymm and District once again raised circa £9,000 for good causes.
For over sixty years, the Rotary Club of Lymm has escorted Santa on his annual tour of Lymm & Thelwall. He returned for another twelve nights this year and was warmly welcomed by local families, both the very young and their parents and grand-parents.
Hundreds of children stopped the float to have a chat with Santa and numerous photos were taken, requests for presents were made and letters posted.
Many adults expressed their thanks for the Rotary Club and its volunteers for making this visit possible. One of our favourite responses to Santa’s visit read as follows; “ thanks to Lymm Rotary and their band of helpers for the Santa Float this year. They have turned out in all weathers, weekdays and weekends, to bring us all a little festive cheer, raising money for the local community”.
Additionally, Santa appeared at Abbey Lees Farmers Market, Sainsbury’s in Rush Green, Lymm’s Dickensian Day, Sainsbury’s Warrington & a children’s party at the Grappenhall & Thelwall Royal British legion.
Lymm Rotary Club would like to thank all who visited the float and those who contributed so generously to Rotary’s Charitable funds.
The sum raised was similar to other years and grants will now be made to the local organisations who assisted in the collections and to other good causes throughout the year.
