Drunken man arrested after being rescued from roof

A DRUNKEN man was arrested by police after being rescued by firefighters from the roof top of a convenience store in Orford, Warrington, last night.

Two fire crews were called to the premises on Greenwood Crescent, Orford, Warrington at around 10.45pm last night (Tuesday) following reports of a man being on the roof of the store.

Two fire engines attended – one from Stockton Heath and one from Lymm – as did an aerial ladder appliance from Lymm

Crews used ladders to rescue the man from the rooftop.

They were in attendance for more than 45 minutes.

Once rescued the drunken man was arrested for police assault and being drunk and disorderly.
