LADY members of Lymm Golf Club have raised an amazing £12,676 for charity during 12 months of fund raising events.
Liz Lyons, the Lady Captain, chose the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) at Millington as her charity f0r the year and was amazed at the amount she and her team managed to raise.
She said: “We have had a lot of fun along the way and the money should give a little happiness to children who through no fault of their own have been deprived of a normal childhood.”
CAFT provides free residential holidays and fun days for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from across the North West and North Wales
Fund raising events included a Ladies Golf Fashion Show, the 72 hole “Slice Girls Challenge”, a Ladies Evening of Image, Colour and Beauty, the Ladies Golf Charity Open Competition, a Holistic evening and, finally, a Christmas quiz with a twist.
The cheque was presented to CAFT community fundraiser Rob Bashforth at the Ladies Christmas lunch and pictured from left to right are Jeanie Donnell-Jones, Lottie Makin, Jackie Booth, Liz Lyons(Lady Captain), Rob Bashforth from CAFT, Eileen Roberts, Jan Marlowe and Beryl Boucher.
Rob thanked Liz for choosing CAFT and explained how much fund raising efforts like this mean to the charity and to the children it supports. Details of the work done by CAFT can be found at www.caft.co.uk
