Knifeman arrested by Taser police

POLICE were called to the Whitecross area of Warrington overnight after reports of a man armed with a knife.
The suspect was traced and confronted by an officer armed with a Taser who “red dotted” him – meaning the officer turned on the electroshock weapon and aimed a red laser at him while warning him that the device would be used.
A search of the man resulted in him being arrested for alleged possession of a bladed article.
Subsequently it was discovered the man was also wanted on a recall to prison.
