Man, 23, arrested after car fire

A 23-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of arson at Warrington after a car was found ablaze
The blaze was in St Elphins Close, Howley at 11.15pm last night and a fire engine from Stockton Heath was sent to the scene.
The black hatch-back car was well alight and a firefighter wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish it. The cause was believed to be deliberate.
Police arrested a 23-year-old man but are still appealing for information about the incident. Anyone who can help is asked to call police on 101, quoting IML 579359.
In another incident last night, fire engines from Warrington and Birchwood went to Warrington Road, Culcheth and two crew members wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to tackle a fire in a commercial building. A thermal imaging camera was also used to monitor the temperature in the room of origin before ventilating the area. Crews were at the scene for about an hour and 15 minutes.
