A LIVE event at the Warrington Campus of the University of Chester will help to bring A Level and BTEC studies alive – and give a taste of university life.
The campus is hosting an event where you’ll be able to ask experts the burning questions of your subject area.
“An Expert Explains… Live” starts at 4.30pm tomorrow (Wednesday) and will offer opportunities to hear about leading research in a variety of subjects, such as Business, Education, Media, Nursing, Policing, Sport and Social Work.
The event has been developed following the success of the university’s popular “An Expert Explains” YouTube videos, where staff from across the university talk on a diverse range of topics, including A World without Advertising, Appeal of Halloween movies and Evolution of the Nativity in Schools.
Mark Hoddell, Warrington Campus marketing and recruitment co-ordinator, said: “This is a great opportunity for people to understand the type of work that we offer.
“Whether you’re studying A-Levels, BTECs or just curious to see what we offer at the Warrington Campus, you can hear from our experts as well as being able to ask questions about their field of study and research.
“Importantly, the event will give you an opportunity to gain experience of what university life could be like for you.”
The event takes place at the Warrington Campus in Crab Lane, Padgate.
Visitors will be able to learn about subjects such as: *Business – Mobile Technology and Business: A workshop
* Education – Why are we all so stressed?
* Media – From Podcasting to Webcasting: Examining developments in Media
* Nursing – Nursing in the 21st Century
* Policing – A murder investigation explained
* Social Work – What is Poverty and why should social workers be concerned about it?
* Sport – Talent identification in Youth Sport
Between 6pm and 7pm, there will be an information fair, with support staff from Accommodation, Admissions, Careers and Employability to Student Support on hand with advice and guidance on how university could help you with your career choices.
While it’s free to attend, you will need to book your place at chester.ac.uk/events/expert-explainslive where you will also find further information.
