Festive fun for all the family at Bents Garden & Home

THE displays are open, Santa has arrived and Christmas is in full flow at Bents Garden & Home, where there’s lots more festive fun still to come…

The Centre’s popular Festive Family Fun Weekend returns on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th December and once again it promises to be a hugely enjoyable event for all the family, with lots of special treats in store.

Father Christmas will be here with his reindeer who will be taking a break and enjoying some fun before returning to their reindeer training! And they will be joined by more of Santa’s festive friends with acrobatic elves jumping in on the action. Bents’ forest of freshly cut trees will lead to a children’s entertainment area with fairground rides and reindeer treasure hunt.

The fun will take place throughout the weekend between 11.00am and 4.00pm when the grown-ups can enjoy a glass of hot punch and mince pie, on sale for Bents’ Charity of the Year.

Christmas is a time for traditions: presents under the tree, roast turkey on the table, visits to Father Christmas, but there’s one tradition that seems to have diminished slightly over the years, that of Christmas Carol singing.

Bents is on a mission to keep it alive and on Friday 20th December the Glazebury based centre will be hosting a Community Singalong. Supported by choirs from local churches, the Singalong is the chance for young and old to gather together and enjoy joining in with some festive favourites.

It will provide a great opportunity to take a little bit of time out from the planning and the preparation, the present buying and the wrapping, to just enjoy the moment. The event, which will be held in Bents’ Winter Food Market between 2 – 4pm, is sure to bring even more festive cheer as Christmas approaches.
