VANDALS are being blamed for a fire which damaged a wooden walkway at a park at Bruche, Warrington, last night.
The blaze was on playing fields off Larkfield Avenue and was reported at about 7.30pm.
Fire engines from Warrington and Lymm were sent to the scene and firefighters used an extended hose reel jet to extinguish the flames. They were at the scene for about half-an-hour.
The fire – which was well established when firefighters arrived – is believed to have been started deliberately.
