Eight youngsters detained after missiles thrown from bridge at Appleton

EIGHT juvenile males were detained following reports of missiles being thrown from Lumb Brook Bridge at Appleton, resulting in several vehicles being damaged.

Fortunately no one was seriously injured but now police are appealing for help from anyone who witnessed the incident.

The eight youngsters were detained by Warrington PCSOs in the area of Lumb Brook Bridge following several reports of missiles being thrown from the bridge.

Any one who was in the area around 8pm and witnessed anything please contact police on 101 quoting IML 577251, enquiries in to this incident are ongoing.

Meanwhile a group of youths were stopped on Saturday night after being involved in throwing items at properties near to Alexandra Park in Stockton Heath.

Referrals have been made to the community safety team for follow-up action.
