A HOUSEHOLDER tackled a bedroom blaze with a dry powder extinguisher – and put the fire out before firefighters could reach the scene.
The fire was at a house in Kirkham Close, Penketh, Warrington last night.
The crew, from Penketh Fire Station, used a ventilation unit to clear smoke from the property and a thermal imaging camera to check there were no hot spots remaining.
One person suffering from smoke inhalation was treated with oxygen.
A fire crew from Stockton Heath dealt with a car fire in Fairclough Avenue, Warrington and called in police as the blaze was believed to have been started deliberately.
In a third incident last night, Warrington firefighters were called to a fire in a wooded area off Lockerbie Close, Houghton Green which turned out to be an abandoned wheelie bin.
