HEAVY rain and road works were creating traffic chaos in and around Warrington town centre on Thursday afternoon, which is likely to escalate during the rush hour period.
Roads in and around Warrington have suffered throughout the day following multiple collisions and slow driving conditions on the motorway networks surrounding Warrington.
Traffic was particular heavy on Mersey Street, which is restricted to one lane near Bridge Foot due to road works.
Traffic was also heavy on Wilson Pattern Street, Barbauld Street and the Bridge Foot area.
As a result bus services were being delayed throughout the day.
Motorists planning to travel across Warrington should consider alternative routes or delay their journey.
