Warrington Male Voice Choir are competition ready

WITH the final two competition rehearsals taking place this week Warrington Male Voice Choir is ready for this year’s North Wales Choral Festival, taking place at Llandudno’s Venue Cymru from  November 8-10.

The Male Voice competition will take place on Saturday 9 November and see Warrington Male Voice competing for cash prizes and that all important winners trophy.

Then, hopefully as winners, the choir will take part in the evening Festival Celebration Concert, when it will be all about entertainment, rather than adjudicators and competition.

The choir’s three competition pieces got their final public airing on Saturday, when the choir took part in An Evening of Song at St Wilfrid’s Church, Grappenhall, in aid of funds for a new church annexe. And, if the reaction of the near full capacity audience was anything to go by, the choir are onto a winner!

Unfortunately, the choir’s involvement in this prestigious choral festival and with many members and their families making a weekend of it, means they will be unable to take part formally, as they have done for many years, in Sunday morning’s Remembrance Service at The Cenotaph, Bridgefoot, Warrington.

However, it’s hoped that a number of choristers will be present to add their voices to those of the expected large public turnout.
